Gatco 1454C Countertop Towel Ring, Chrome

I was expecting this to be for a hand towel, but it is too small. It is meant for a small guest towel. This fact she be made obvious to the buyer, but it was not.

Nice--small enough to fit on the bathroom sink---we bought this to replace a similar one that began to show rust over the years. The only improvement that I would suggest is that they place felt or rubber on the bottom. We just did it ourselves to protect our marble sink top. That is why I did not give it 5 stars. It was a good buy for the money.

the product itself looks like it does in the picture.

It is a nice quality (shiny and doesn't look "cheap").

My only complaint is that the rings don't stay well in the "up" position.

I use this in my kitchen for kitchen hand towels and to keep the towels from touching the countertop the rings need to be and STAY in the up position (not as they are in the picture). The "seal" isnt very tight so it takes some fanagling to get the rings to stay upright (must be leaned against each other). But overall for the nice price (good deal) it's serving the function i wanted. If you only have "fingertip" towels you can use the rings in the down position.

My favorite thing is that the bottom is covered in plastic. My last towel stand looked just like this (purchased at a Walmart store for probably a few dollars more)... however it had a felt bottom and it got rusty and put rust rings all over my countertop!

This is a nice looking hand-towel rack if you don't want to mount one on the wall. It's very light though. I used some of those psuedo-velcro picture hanging kits to attach it to the counter, but the black plastic on the underside separates from the metal pretty easily. I'll need to superglue that or something.

I bought it hoping to hang hand towels. But even hand towels are too big for this stand. It's really good only for the very small surface wiping towels.
