InterDesign Formbu Power Lock Suction Rectangular Basket, Bamboo

InterDesign Formbu Power Lock Suction Rectangular Basket, BambooThe suction cups are strong, but if you plan on having any weight at all in the basket, be prepared to have it fall off the wall at some point. I just super glued them to the shower wall. When I move out, I will have to scrape them off and use some "Goof-off" (dissolves tough residue, like super glue) on the wall surface.

Wish they had added a third suction cup to the lower portion of the basket. Because the suction cups hold it out from the wall at the top, but at the bottom, it just pushes in towards the wall, when a few items are placed into the basket. I resolved this by putting a suction cup under the bottom of the basket, to push it back out from the wall, thus keeping it balanced.

They are good-looking baskets, provided you put in the work to get them stable.

After less than a year of sticking in the shower, the metal on the inside of the basket is covered in rust (the outside is starting to rust as well now). Also the inside design of the basket allows water to sit, causing the bamboo to start accumulating mold. Expected this product to at least last a few years, but did not even get close.

The basket looks really nice and I was looking forward to improving our bathroom decor. Unfortunately suction cups did not work and it would not stick for longer than 1 day.

We needed something to help unclutter our compact double vanity. Our choice was a small vertical shelf of a some kind between the two sinks or something that would stick on the mirror. I didn't want something sitting on the counter top so I bought two of these.

These shelves are the typical welded/soldered wire. The bamboo accents help to spice them up a bit, however, they look inexpensive; which is what they are. Would be nice to have them in an espresso color, but you'd could probably do that yourself quite easily. I also considered this shelf Solid Teak Shower ShelfSuction Self Hanging but as you can see it costs quite a bit more and in the unreliable "suction" arena cheap is low risk.

Now as to getting them to stick. The instructions are not super specific. The suction is created when you rotate the shelf downward while pushing the suction cups onto the surface. The suction cups are connected to a hinged joint to allow this action. Clean your mirror or surface really well.

Upon first try I got my fingers wet with water and rubbed the suction cups. The instructions only state "moisten the suction cups". Tip, they only need a tiny bit of moisture in my experience. Water wasn't working as it was too much moisture. So, I licked my finger and rubber each cup with just a tiny bit of saliva. I could now feel as I rotated the shelf downward while pushing on the cups on the mirror that a good suction was being created. It's tricky, especially to get the shelf straight while doing all this. A second person to sight placement is recommended. After figuring out the right technique it still took me about 5 times to get the perfect suction.

The wife doesn't think they're going to hold, only time will tell. Items in our shelves include hair spray, sunscreen, cologne, cleansers etc. Knowing how most "suction" items work, I would not have purchased these for anything other than applying them to a mirror or perhaps very smooth glass tiles.

Yet another bath product that will not stick to your basic low-end contractor grade tile. Yes I wiped with alcohol, licked, tried vegetable oil, all to no avail.
