Zenith Bathstyles Liquid Soap Dispenser

First off, I purchased this item at Walmart for around $15. When I opened the packaging, it was missing the labels and the adhesive strips. I wasn't about to make a trip back to Walmart and waste two hours of my time on such a minor thing. Since I had it around the house, I used some 3m automotive grade tape to attach this to my wall, and it is still attached over three years later. Unfortunately, one of the dispenser tanks has started leaking. My wife noticed it after I refilled it with some low cost coconut scented shampoo. I lost somewhere near four uses worth before I recovered the rest of the shampoo. It's been a long run with this item, and for the price I paid, I think it's time to upgrade.

Pros:

-Integrated mirror is useful for shaving in the shower.

-Reduces clutter of bottles around the shower and tub area.

-Shelf is deep enough for an average size bottle of shampoo or conditioner, or a razor.

-Easy to refill tanks simply snap out of back piece.

Cons:

-Doesn't dispense very much liquid.

-Mine was missing a few items.

-Doesn't last forever. (Silly, I know, but the springs inside come into contact with the liquid... Bad design.)

Final thoughts:

Amazon provides a great feedback system on it's items. I wish I had purchased my first dispenser on here, as it would have been a much more informed decision. There are always many great alternatives to the items offered here. If you are still considering this item, I'd recommend reading reviews on similar items, as that is what I will be doing soon when I purchase a replacement unit.

I bought this item from Target. It really does not work. I put regular soap in it...it even comes with sticker/labels for the "shampoo", "soap" , "conditioner"...then you pres the buttons for it to come out...it only gives you half a drop at a time...you have to press the button like ten times to get a dime size amount of soap. I prefer a quarter size amount of soap....this is still mounted in our bathroom...we haven't pressed a single button/used it in 2 years.

The good things are convenience and they save on soap.

The bad things are; the mounting doesn't work, you need to screw it to the wall, and the pumps for the soap are terrible, you have to pump them really slow or nothing comes out and when it does come out there is only a small drop.

Loved the product until the springs inside the bottles rusted out and I found out that they don't make replacement parts. If you buy it, expect it to last about a year.

I bought this from Walmart to ease the clutter in the bathroom. Biggest mistake I ever made.

First off, the double sticky tape wasn't very sticky. I cleaned both the back of the dispenser and the tub surround (mine is cultured marble) with rubbing alcohol. Then I applied the tape and applied it to the wall. I used painter's blue tape to hold it in place for 24 hours. We also showered in a different bathroom to help it cure the tape.

Well, after I filled it up with my shampoo, my husband's shampoo, and then face wash. To prime the dispensers, you need to press it like about 50 times or so. Then, when the product comes out, it comes out after you pressed the button, not when you press the button. A drop comes out at a time. I have hair that is about 14 inches from the top of my head. I pressed it like about 10 times or so to get enough to lather my hair.

Then, while showering, I noticed it leaked a tiny drip at a time after I dispensed it. The next morning, I could see the line of dried up shampoo and face wash on the side of the shower and in the tub. I think more leaked out than I got to use each day.

The third day, during the night, there was a loud crashing sound. The unit had fallen off the wall. The tape was still on the wall. The caps on two dispensers had cracked and most of the shampoo and face wash went down the drain.

I reattached it, but it fell off again the next day.

After that, I emailed the company and they sent me three new bottles to fit into the unit. They all still leaked.

The reason the unit fell off the wall is a design flaw. The tape attaches behind each bottle part, but the space behind the area in which you press the button does not touch the wall or have tape for it. As such, when you press the button a lot, it stresses and lifts the tape area. So, over time, the unit will fall off.

I tossed it in the trash and I bought from Amazon the Aviva two chamber dispenser with the basket. I love it. So far it works great and has never fallen off the wall. It comes with tape and silicone glue that you need to apply ALL of the tube to the back of the chambers. Then wait like a day or longer for it to cure. You can tell when it doesn't smell as much (the glue). The basket works great, the chambers dispense more shampoo, but still require about three pumps for my hair. I even bought a separate one chamber one for the face wash, and one pump delivers the perfect amount.

Here's the difference. The Zenith dispenser is made in China. The Aviva ones are made in Canada. The quality is so much better for the Aviva ones.
