The soap dispenser is ok, but not worth the high price. It looked like a metal pump in the picture, but should have known it was just plastic with a chrome look coating. I have a feeling the chrome coating will eventually wear off. Also, the bottle would look better without the umbra logo on the side. I am adding an update at the end of this. I need to add that they are not very durable. We had purchased 2 of these dispensers, since the bathroom has 2 sinks. On separate occasions, each dispenser was bumped off the counter of the bathroom counter into the sink. Each one cracked and started leaking. Better to spend $1.50 on a pump bottle already filled with soap and keep refilling them. They might not look as pretty, but then again it's much better than dumping $40 down the drain on 2 of these dispensers and having them put out with the garbage less than a year later.Read Best Reviews of Umbra Droplet Soap Pump Here
I was so super happy when I first received this product in the mail. It's so beautiful and sleek. However, my joy has turned into disappointment. This is because I have noticed that my ivory-colored baby's soap is coming out with a bluish color to it.The first few times I noticed this occur, I was in disbelief and thought my eyes were just being funny. I thought, "Maybe it's the lighting in here," because the color is such a light-bluish hue. However, I have noticed that at times when I wipe the dispenser tip with a wet washcloth (it's only wet with water--no chemicals), I get a blue streak on the washcloth. Since I use this specifically--and exclusively--for my baby, I'm not overly impressed with the thought of smearing chrome paint on my baby's face, even in small amounts. It just can't be healthy.
At any rate, I gave Umbra a call today and they said they'll send me a new pumping mechanism. Fyi, I bought mine from Umbra.com, not from Amazon. We'll see how the new one works when it gets here. I can't imagine it being any better since the new one will still be made of chrome-painted plastic. Well, hopefully it will be better. I hope that mine was just a defect. However, I'm doubtful because I've read some other unhappy comments from other Amazonians regarding their chrome paint issues with Umbra products. Oh well. We'll see. *sigh*
At any rate, the product is wonderful otherwise. My child dropped it into the sink and also onto the bathroom floor the first day we got it, and there's not even a scratch : ) This product is gorgeous. I just wish they'd put a stainless steel pumping mechanism on it. Then it'd be A+ perfect.

P.S. I wrote this review on Amazon.com because I wanted to share my experience with other Amazonians. I thought my review would be helpful, even though I didn't buy it on Amazon.com : )

UPDATE: I contacted Umbra Customer Service and they said they'd replace the pumping mechanism. They did. First, they sent me the wrong pumping mechanism, though: it didn't fit on the bottle at all. They then sent me another replacement pumping mechanism, but, as I figured, it was no better than the original one that came with the soap bottle. It was still the same old silver-coated plastic...I knew it'd be the same old thing, but I hoped against all hope that it'd still somehow not leach paint into the soap. However, it does still leach silver paint into the soap. ;-[
I've given up. It's not worth it for me to mail the soap pump back to them, which I think is why they make customers pay for return shipping--they know ppl are less likely to return an item if they have to pay for the return shipping themselves. Anywho, I've finally decided what I'll do: I'll put our adult hand soap into the Umbra soap bottle because my husband and I don't care if we have slightly bluish soap *sigh*. We put the baby's soap into the emptied adult soap pump bottle after we've put the adult soap into the Umbra bottle. The adult hand soap and the adult hand soap bottle come from The Honest Company. They make their products (such as the hand soap bottle) without BPA and other bad chemicals, so that's why we're going to be putting the baby's soap into The Honest Company's adult hand soap bottle. After a few days my face soap, which is usually orange in color, came out green with metallic like flakes. I would have to pump about five times before just soap came out. Instead of wasting soap I just stopped using it.
