Wow! This thing is heavy and built to last. All the medicine cabinets at Lowes and Home Depot have a lot of plastic parts, especially where the hinges connect to the mirror. None of them looked like they would last more than a year of normal use. So I did my research and found this one. This thing weighs about 20 pounds and is solid as a rock. The hinge is one long piano hinge that connects the entire mirror to the recessed cabinet. My kids can slam this thing for years before breaking it. One word of advice though, shop around. I found this new on e bay new for $89.Also, the rough-in dimensions that the ASI website gives you (16 X 22.75) are at least 1/2 inch too big, if your hole is square. I had to shim my hole up with 1/2 inch sheetrock and it still had some slop.
