I bought this, thinking that it was a 72" rod that would be screwed to the wall. It fit, but it's just a long expansion rod with screw mountings. There is still a change in diameter at the expansion. There is a plastic insert that keeps the rings moving fairly smoothly over the jump, so we didn't return it.

Speaking from the voice of experience, I can highly recommend this Shower Rod as the one to get if you want the job done right, simply and once and for all!

In my humble opinion, from bitter experience, all those "simple" "tension-mount" shower rods now featured and sold all over town are the lazy man's/woman's joke! I was one of those people. Yes, in a few minutes time, you can hold each of those tension-mount shower rods over your head with both hands, and try to balance it level, align it perfectly with left and right walls, and simultaneously push your arms out in opposite directions against each wall! How simple! If that sounds difficult for something supposed to be "simple", don't worry because you are going to get lots of practice, putting it up over and over again, every time a feather drops or a bird outside sneezes, or you carelessly touch the shower curtain with your elbow while trying to enjoy a hot shower! Figure about 3X a week minimum!

This Zenith Decorative Screw Mount Shower Rod, Chrome, 72 Inches on the other hand is a dream to put up, one hand at a time! It has an ingenious mounting system, consisting of two hidden circular nylon wall mounts, each of which attaches to the wall with two anchored screws, both of which are completely hidden by the attractive flush mount end piece which snaps onto and completely hides the wall mount. Using a yardstick, a spirit level, a pencil, a drill and a screw driver, it was simple to do a perfect job of mounting the wall mounts on opposite walls. Then came the neatest part each nylon wall mount has two small "fingers" or pillars in its center, over which fit two holes pre-punched into each end of the rod. Therefore, no balancing act or juggling act is required you just drop the rod onto the pillars, through the end holes, one at a time, slide the rod-mounted fancy circular covers over to the end, snap them in place concealing the mounts, the screws, the punched holes in the rod and the tiny pillars, and you're done! Never to have to pick up a wet shower curtain and rod and mount it again!

This is a high-quality, well-designed and attractive system. I hope my favorable review does not drive the price up, because this is, in addition, a bargain when compared to the tension-mount rods!

I don't like the pressure rods because they fall. This rode will not fall when I move the curtains and it is adjustable.
