Hansgrohe 06328860 S and E Soap Dispenser, Steel Optik

I can't comment on the quality of the soap dispenser since I haven't purchased one yet, but I can tell you that I purchased a hansgrohe faucet from COSTCO that was steel optic. I was looking for a matching soap dispenser and air gap cover and after reading the comments that the top portion was made of plastic, I decided to call Hansgrophe customer support at (800)334-0455 to confirm if this was true or not. The representative told me that the top portion is made of a PVD plastic and is not steel. I was also told by the rep that if the soap dispenser was purchased from Amazon.com, there would be no warranty for the product because Amazon.com is not an authorized dealer.

When I received this item I was disappointed. It says it's steel optic (which matches my kitchen faucet). However the dispenser is made of hard plastic and is suppose to be steel in color (which doesn't even match my hansgroghe faucet). In addition the plastic soap cracked and leaked soap everywhere under the sink. I'm upset that this product is so CHEAPLY MADE. For this price and company you'd expect a metal dispenser and a well made soap bottle. Don't waste your money on this product... and certainly don't buy it with seeing it first. shame on Hansgroghe!

I bought this soap dispenser match my Grohe Allegro faucet. The item does not appear to be plastic and it is more sturdy than the self contained soap dispensers I've bought in the past. I hate paying so much for this item but like most buyers, purchased it to match the faucet.

Overall, I'm pleased with everything but the cost.

I bought one with sink faucet and it was broken easily. I just used it about 10 times and I don't know who in my family broke it. But the plastic looks very cheap. I come to Amazon.com to find a replacement and saw others comment. So I decide to leave my comment, even though I bought it from costco.com. I will continue to find a substitute.

This unit replaced the exact same model that had a failure with the pump mechanism after 6 years of moderate use. I was disappointed that there didn't seem to be a way to just buy the $1 plastic pump on the inside. So we bought the entire unit. It works perfectly, looks good and is pretty easy to install.
