I was redoing my bathroom & wanted to use all porcelain, old-timey kinds of soap, toothbrush, & towel holders. I saw this soapdish (which also has a matching toothbrush holder sold separately) & thought it was a good price, so quickly ordered it. It is lovely; the finish is very nice. However, the way it is held on the wall is not good; a metal plate is screwed into the wall with anchors. The holder actually slides down onto the metal plate. This would be fine if it was a tight fit, but it is not. The instructions say to bend one corner of the plate if the fit is not tight enough, but I could not bend it much at all, certainly not enough to make it tight-fitting, so I purchased a special glue & just glued it on. It will ruin the drywall under it if I take it down, I realize, but did not know another way to secure it properly. The other thing I don't like about this holder is its size. It is small! I had hoped it would be bigger, more like the old fashioned ones.This holder will do, but it is certainly a disappointment to me. I understand why the price was so good. I would recommend paying a little more & getting one that is more substantial & that definitely installs more securely.
