I have never tried this type of hook before, always using those that clip shut and are such a pain to get onto the rod, especially when I am only 4'11" and need to stand on a step stool to do the job. My arms get so tired by the time I have clipped the 12th hook onto the rod. When my shower curtain, liner and hooks came it did take a while to figure out how to insert the hooks through the liner and curtain, but when I did I realized what a snap it would be to then hang the curtain on the rod, and it was. I still needed the step stool, of course, but I just slipped each of the 12 hooks over the rod and was done in maybe a minute or two. The palm trees are plenty big enough to see when I look at the finished job and look nice against my tropical fish curtain. Next time I need a set of hooks it will be this same style. They may cost more than the old-fashioned type, but take a lot less time and arm power to put up.
