This is an excellent product when installed properly. It's tough, strong and looks like home, rather than the men's room at Grand Central Station. However, the description is misleading. You get 6 wood screws with instructions that say you must anchor the bar into a wall stud. No "Secure Mount" hardware comes with it and there are no "multiple points" of anchor. At 24 inches one end of this thing must be fastened to dry wall or plaster alone. You'll have to provide your own mounting hardware for that.

My wife's illness' have progressed to the point where she can't stand alone and has trouble getting in and out of the tub, even with my assistance. Nearly 5 months ago I installed two of these grab bars on the tub walls, which are covered with ceramic tiles over a plaster. I waited this long before reviewing these grab bars to make sure they worked as well as advertised.
I installed an 18" bar on the end wall, beneath the shower head, to use while standing and getting in and out of the tub. The second 24" bar is lower down on the back wall to assist her is sitting down and getting up from either her shower seat or bath lift chair.
To install the bars on my tub walls, I purchased a ceramic tile drill to make a neat hole in the ceramic tile before using a masonry drill to penetrate the plaster wall. I inserted plastic wall anchors in the holes and used the screws provided with the bar to attach the bars to the walls. The bars provide the support needed for my wife to hold onto to get into the tub, then to sit on one of the seats to shower or take a tub bath. She feels more secure now in using the tub and I am pleased with the results and the quality of these grab bars.
