Blomus Soap Dispenser, Frosted

We were looking for a soap dispenser that matched our kitchen decor. We have been pleased with other kitchen/bath items from both Blomus and Zack. As usual the Zack were more expensive, so we focused on the various Blomus soap dispenser offerings.

After looking through the Blomus products on Amazon, we noted they come in three sizes, 3oz., 6oz. and 10oz. Since the dispenser would see frequent use, we wanted to get the largest size available at a reasonable price, which led us to this particular item.

We have had the dispenser only a few days, but some things are already clear.

1) We are glad we got the 10oz. size. Anything smaller would require too many refils.

2) It looks nice and seems to function well. One thing you should know about the construction. The pump screws onto a frosted glass container and the bottom stainless part just slips over the bottom. In other words the bottom piece is simply decorative.

3) The top opening is on the small side so filling isn't as easy as it could be.

4) The glass container is nice since you can judge the soap level.

5) While the tall thin design may be stylish, it also makes the item less stable and easier to bump with an errant hand. I would have preferred a shorter larger diameter design.

While researching other soap dispensers, we noticed a lot of complaints about failures after weeks or months of use. I will update the review if that happens. My guess is that some people use inappropriate contents or don't understand that liquids can harden and plug up the fairly small passages in the pump. I assume the pump can be cleaned with a small amount of effort.

I have been looking for a nice modern large soap dispenser that looks wells designed with sturdy material and good finishes. Blomus answers all those requirements. I am sure this product will serve me for years to come and it looks great.
