I initially bought this product: InterDesign Formbu Over-the-Door Triple Towel Bar, Bamboo/Bronze Big mistake! The bamboo was not sealed, so over time and damp towels being placed on it, the stain on the bamboo leached out onto my (white!) towels and began to grow mold. Gross! Also, though it was a 3-tier towel rack, only 2 were really usable.
In looking for a better (long lasting, non-towel-staining) replacement I came across the Interdesign York which is 10 times better and suited our needs perfectly! Funny that the two different products are from the same company, but radically different in quality.
The York design looks great on the back of our bathroom door. It goes have a decent sized hook to go over the top of the door too much space for our door, so I used a few photo-mount pads to keep the rack snug against the door and keep it from rattling. Never rusted, allowed enough room to hang an extra towel and bathrobe without causing mold or stains.
Anyone looking to add some extra space in a room without the fuss of installing should get this rack. Whatever you do, don't get the Bamboo Triple Towel Bar!I purchased this from Amazon and it looks pretty nice and does the job of holding my extra towels. The hangers were kind of wide for my 1.5 inch doors. I had the perfect solution by using makeup wedges to give the hangers some extra space from the door. My significant other thought he'd be more handy and nailed the top hanger to the top of the doors. Big mistake! That left a dent on the door frame. Oh geeeez, great job handyman! It also creaks at the top due to the extra nail. So, I'm telling you, if you feel like there is too much space between the door at the hanger, use sponges or foam and tape it around the hanger to give it an anchor. It's a simple solution. Other than the larger space between the door, the towel rack itself is a nice design. It fits small/medium sized towels across the bar. I use the lower hangers to hold dryer towels and I actually put my "wet" large towel horizontally across the top bar so that the long ends hang to the sides. I think this method keeps my towels dryer because the bar itself isn't designed to fit large towels (unless you fold your large towel in half) in full piece. Overall, the towel rack is sturdy and worth the buy!

This towel rack works just as promised. It fits nicely over the shower door and is a perfect size for a wash cloth...which is just what I wanted it for. There are also 2 hooks that are great for hanging small brushes like nail or back scrubbers. I have only had this rack for about 3 weeks now, so I am curious to see if it ever starts to rust...which would then downgrade my rating from 4 stars. I have a double-door sliding shower door of which we only open one side, so didn't want the frame to hit the glass door. I used large self-adhesive photo bumpers and they work great. Other suggestions I have read are to use sponge make-up applicators to place between the door and the frame interior. The clearance between front to back for hanging over the shower frame is 2-1/8", plenty of room for almost any door. I had searched everywhere for an item like this one and there are no others to be found. This is just what I needed. Highly recommended...it is priced very reasonable. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is there are no rubber bumpers on the back side or top to keep the rack from touching the glass shower door or slipping on the top frame.Update: It is now September 28, 2012, one year later. The rack is still holding up very well and no signs of rust. Still highly recommend.
Update (again): It is now July 2013 and the rack is showing a little rust on the bottom of the bar where a wet wash cloth has been hanging daily. However, no rust has gotten on the cloth (light beige). I still highly recommend and will probably buy another one to replace this one. For the price, getting 2 years out of it is well worth it, so my rating still stands at 4 stars.

While this may work for some, I was disappointed. The rack is quite small in all directions and would be best for hand towels rather than full sized bath towels. In addition, I tried to use it over a regular interior door and found that the door would not close. Make sure you have a relatively large gap above your door if you plan to use this product in that way. Otherwise, description is accurate as written.Want InterDesign York Over-the-Shower-Door Towel Rack Combo Discount?
Not all that good. The hooks are too wide for usual doors. Expensive for the design of the product. I would rather avoid this!
