So I took a chance on this, and it works pretty darn well.
I'm not sure what problem the other reviewer had, but I suspect there might be some porosity (porousness?) in the tiles, preventing a complete seal. I've had no problem with it sticking to the wall -in fact, I can tug on it pretty hard and it doesn't budge.
While the "PWRLock" aspect is hard to explain, it works really well. The soap dish is folded up vertically away from the base when it is first pressed against the tile. When it's folded down, it exerts pressure against the suction cup inside the base and that really tightens the seal. Imagine pressing a suction cup against a surface and them immediately pulling back against it: the increase in suction seals the cup tighter against the surface than normal, and makes a stronger mount point. In this product, the folding-down of the dish pulls the suction cup against the wall permanently, or at least until you want to reposition it or remove it for cleaning.
Maybe the other reviewer didn't fold the dish up first? In which case it would be difficult to even press the suction cup firmly against the wall, since it's inside the acrylic base. And, for course, the tile (or glass) has to be really clean and at least a little damp, but that's true of any suction cup.
The reason for only four stars? There's only one drain hole, in the center of the dish, and the bottom of the dish is pretty flat. So the gizmo has to be mounted *perfectly* level if you want the water to flow out of the dish, and even then it probably won't drain perfectly. Especially as little chunks and slivers of soap gunk up the raised bevels. Since soap is strongly hydrophilic, a little left over water tends to get absorbed in the soap, which swells into contact with more water.
This is especially a problem in my household, since four or five people use this shower through the day, so the soap and dish never get fully dry. But if the dish were a bit more concave, or had more drain holes, this would be a perfect product.I love these! Bought 2. Free up space on my bathroom shelves, have drainage holes and strong suction. The only downside is that it only fits a standard size soap bar (like Dove) and not my slightly longer bars.

I love this soap dish because i can choose where to apply it and the suction cup is very strong. Just be sure when you apply it to have it open all the way, wet the suction cup, apply pressure to get a good suction and then fold down and it holds tight! Just do not apply so much pressure that you break it.Read Best Reviews of InterDesign Power Lock Soap Holder, Clear Here
Completely snapped in half after a month of normal use. Tried to super glue it back together, but it had broken near the suction cup, so it wasn't functional when the glue dried. Not worth the time/moneyI have had it in my shower for a month now and it has not fallen once. Holds my soap and clairisonic which is pretty impressive!
