Chrome Tub Caddy - Expandable

We looked and looked and looked at department stores for an across the tub caddy for our antique claw-foot tub. The most affordable one we found in the stores was 39.99, which I felt was steep for such a simple item. Found this one and immediately fell in love with it when it came. It fits eveything, but yet is not in the way when bathing or showering. Expands to fit even extra-wide tubs.

These were my questions that couldn't be answered just by looking at the product picture:

just how big is it exactly?

is it gonna sag?

will it fit in my tub style?

I have a standard bath tub with shower head and 2 short and 1 long wall (meaning one of the long side of the tub is against a wall). The width of available tub on which that side of the caddy could rest on is about one inch. I was really worried it wouldn't be wide enough to provide stability. I didn't need to worry. Also, for the normal-sized tub, the caddy fits perfectly and uses all the space without needing to be expanded.

Currently, the caddy is completely full with 10 bottles (2 largest ones are the Dr. Bonner 32 oz bottle size). There's no sagging that I can see. The little side caddy space is perfect for a shower sponge.

So far, after a month of use, in a pretty humid bathroom, I don't see any signs of rusting.

I was looking forward to replacing my rusty vinyl coated tub rack with this lovely chrome one, and on opening the box was pleased to find a sturdy, attractive item. However no matter where or how I placed it in the tub, it didn't fit. My tub is about 40 years old, not an antique but not brand new either, and apparently the standard for the inside opening of bath tubs has changed. This rack is too big by less than an inch but enough to make it unusable for me. Be sure you measure before ordering. I'm now stuck with a product that would cost more to return than I paid for it.

This rack started rusting within a month of using it! It is sturdy and nice looking otherwise, but the rust is reason for me to get rid of this rack. Looks terrible.

Before this one, I had a rack from Bed, Bath & Beyond that lasted me years and never rusted. I'm going back there to get a new one.
