Eight years ago we gut-renovated our condo and put a medicine cabinet beside both of our sinks. Within a few years I had cut myself on the corner of the medicine cabinet because the mirror chipped on my side and I had to think about replacing both cabinets because it wouldn't look good in our master bath to only replace the one. This medicine cabinet is very large..has a great capacity inside and is rimmed all the way around preventing any breakage even though it's got a great mirror on it. The inside is white and clean looking and in general it's so superior to the old ones we had that I'm almost glad I had to cut myself in order to be able to buy this one!

We had purchased this medicine cabinet for our master bath remodel after the original one we purchased from a big box store was damaged when we opened it. The original one was frameless and felt very flimsy, so we thought getting one with a frame would be sturdier. We had chosen the satin nickel finish to coordinate withh all our satin/brushed nickel hardware. When we opened this one, although it seemed much sturdier, the color has more of a yellowish hue to it than our other hardware, and clashes with the lights directly above and the faucets directly below. Needless to say, it is being returned.

cabinet described as used but in "good" condition. Wrong. Its in horrible condition with multiple gashes and large dents throughout the entire frame. It also comes with NO shelves. What good is a medicine cabinet without shelves??? This should have been thrown in the dumpster and not ever resold. I would appreciate a refund.

Updating review after 18 months of use:

The frame on this mirror is not actually made of metal it's made of plastic. It is painted a satin nickel color, but after long-term use, due only to touching the cabinet to open and close it, the paint has worn off, exposing white plastic underneath. While it looked nice at first, it now looks very bad, and will need to be replaced. $150 is far too much for this imitation stainless steel product.

Got this primarily because of its steel trim, after having chipped the glass on an all-glass medicine cabinet door. This product looks very good, has a very smooth opening action, and a nice, padded magnet that holds the door closed without banging closed.

Just two major inconveniences: first, the metal corners are slighly sharp, which leads to some of the same problems as a glass door, i.e., potentially scratching your hand on it. Second, the bottom shelf of the cabinet is strangely rounded in the corners, which causes two issues the last inch of space on either end is unusable, because it is not flat, and it leaves gaps when inserted into the wall, which could lead to drafts or insects making their way through.

One last thing I hadn't even considered the lip of the cabinet is quite shallow, which means that if you don't have the ability to push the cabinet nearly all the way into the wall opening, the edges will not sit flush with the wall.

Hard to find this medicine cabinet size but the satin nickel turns out good to match with the rest of bathroom fixtures. Would have preferred this size with more features, such as inside mirror and concealed hinges etc.
