Found to be reasonable for the price, very sturdy. However, the satin nickel finish started coming off only after a short time of use.

The description claims it is 6 feet long. It is NOT, it comes in 2 pieces. I'd not have bothered to buy it had I known it was in 2 sections.

I just bought my second one of these. The first one was 3 1/2 years earlier. So I knew how nice it looked from the beginning, and how easy it was to install. Now I have an idea of its durability, and I can't see any wear or damage on the older one.

These install in much the same manner as many towel racks or toilet paper roll holders, except the Allen screw ends up on top out of sight. After anchoring the escutcheon sides of the end pieces to the walls (you unscrew the parts on the rod sides) you cut the rod so its length is the distance between the holders, pop the round end pieces over the ends of the rods, and screw them to the parts on the wall.

Aesthetically, it would have been nicer had the poles been one piece. But it's something you'd have to look for and not something that would catch your attention once a curtain is hanging from it.

You will need basic tools such as a hacksaw, drill, screwdriver and Allen wrench, but the mounting hardware is included. In my case I anchored it to tile, so I used the appropriate drill bit and screws rather than the ones included, but if you are comfortable using the tools I mentioned, it's an easy job to install this.

The ends that attach to the walls are very heavy and well made. You mount a plate to the wall with two screws or the provided hollow wall fasteners. That plate is covered by a heavy trim plate secured by one hex screw. The part of the mount that the bar slides into has internal o-ring and threads onto the trim plate. Excellent design. The rod is nickel finish on solid brass with no seams length wise. The only negative is that the rod is two three foot sections that slide together over slightly smaller diameter internal brass rod which is six inches long. This causes the rod to be less ridged and loose enough that you can make it rattle. No doubt I have voided the warranty but I cleaned any oils from inside of the tubes where they join each other. I put Attwood marine polyurethane sealant quick cure 7200 inside of where the rod slides together and outside of the part that slides inside. Wiped off excess, let cure 48 hrs. and no more loose rattle. Update: after about two weeks the sealant has set up fully and it feels like a solid one piece bar.
