First off as most vinyl items do... this smells upon removing it from the packaging. All you have to do which I recommend no matter the smell is wash it in the tub. I saving time waited until it was time to clean the tub before pulling out the bathmat. Washed it the same time I washed the tub. You want to do this anyways since your children will be bathing with this... meaning it will be submerged in the bathwater so you want all chemicals washed away prior. A standard tub is 5 feet long and this mat is exactly (just measured it) 30 1/2 inches long or 2 1/2 feet.

Just an FYI this is the fourth bathmat we have tried for our kids so we feel kinda experienced now in bathmats... :)

The Good:

* This bathmat is perfectly sized. It fits our standard tub perfectly so there are no slip zones to worry about besides areas that you can't walk in anyways such as around the faucet and the back of the tub.

* The bathmat stays put! Another huge bonus in our bathmat experiences. The kids stand up to get in and out and we have no worries. As a matter of fact, when I was pregnant with our third child my husband insisted I used the kids tub to shower in because we knew I could not slip and fall with this bathmat.

* The design is super cute.

* It is easy to keep clean. We just lift it up after bath time, rinse it off front and back side and then hang it over the tub to dry.... this also prevents mold!

* The quality is great. It is actually pretty thick and very tough!

There is no bad that I can say about this mat.

I bought this for my 18 month old son so that he would not slip in the shower. He absolutely loves it!

i bought this item for my young grandsons. it is durable,colorful and they love it. they are big fans of toy story and really enjoy bath time with this mat. i ordered another one.

When this was delivered, I just knew my boys would love the Toy Story theme on it. Unfortunately they haven't yet seen it. I opened the package and the smell on this was so strong, it was overbearing. I was going to the basement anyway so I brought it downstairs to air out. It was weeks later and you could still smell it, albeit not as strong. It makes me wonder what kind of toxins there are to produce this smell. I've held onto it too long to return it but I doubt it will be used.

I opened the product and was impressed. No odor and looked to be a sturdy product. Placed it in my bathtub and the suction cups do not work. Really disappointed.
