Umbra Bird Bath Shower Caddy

Up until now I have disliked every shower caddy I have seen but I decided to take a risk and ordered this. I love it. It not only is functional but very stylish. I have very dark tiling and so the white birds really pop out in a very cute clever way. I had two problems with it initially. First, it would not want to stay up at the top of my shower as the pipe coming out from the wall angled down immediately, and when it would slide down stuff would come flying off. Second, the top shelf of the caddy ended up quite close to the shower head and so I could only store small items on that shelf. I solved both problems by putting up a rust-proof chrome hanger for it on the opposite wall--no sliding down and total access to the top shelf. Shows off even better!

Quite plasticy looking, but shower caddies are usually MUCH uglier! Love the way you store shampoo bottles upside down great piece of design!

With only the one suction cup it is very unstable in my shower. It wobbles from side to side and the top hook falls foward onto shower head when heavy bottles are on the top shelf. I am so disappointed because it sure looks great when not in use!

This is one of those caddies that seems to hold a lot of promise.

First, it's much more stylish than anything else I found on the market. While most were predominantly metal and very utilitarian looking, I really enjoyed the sleek design of this caddy and the whimsy provided by the birds. The white plastic it is made of has a matte finish and to me looks a bit more elegant than a lot of the plastic products on the market.

Unfortunately I can't really speak to the stability of this because mine was missing the suction cup. In fact, until I came here to review it, I didn't even realize there was one. Needless to say, it hasn't been very stable and I've used it only to hold small bottles, a wash cloth, soap, and razors because it tilts so far forward that anything large is likely to fall off. I'm not taking stars off for this because it's possible that had I realized this sooner and contacted customer service they might have rectified the situation, but now I'll never know. But I will say if for whatever reason you're planning on buyin this and not using the suction cup, it doesn't work very well without it.

What I am taking stars off for is the quality of the construction. I've had this for a year and a couple months and there are cracks in the plastic where it meets the metal. I certainly don't expect a shower caddy to last forever, but I would expect it to hold up for longer than it has. It's made the caddy look unsightly as rust seems to collect in the cracks. Also I the metal itself is hard to keep clean as mine seems to collect rust spots.

Overall I was hoping for this to be more durable than it was.

It's a very cute and pretty shower caddy, much nicer than the plain ones out there. The plastic is heavy-duty and it feels well put-together.

The shelf design is brilliant for bottles, since you can get every last bit by putting them upside down. Perfect for a shower stall!

Soap dries well on the shelves, so the drainage is pretty good.

My problem is that the suction cup is in a bad location. It's right over a horizontal grout line in my place, so it can't work and is slightly unstable. Other than that, it's a great caddy.
