Taylor Scales 8122-4 Digital Talking Luggage Scale

GREAT Item ! I travel a lot for work & bought 2 other luggage scales, one did not work, and the Taylor one I had was excellent....but I left it in a hotel on a trip in China ! Since I needed a replacement, I was going to buy the other Taylor item I had, but decided to buy this one instead. This design for "Two Hands" really is great for Larger, Heavier Luggage. The Blue display is nice, and the talking feature is ok. The fact this "folds up" means it takes up a lot less space to fit in your luggage to take with you on the road. This item can save you lots of money if you face baggage overweight fees from Airlines. I strongly recommend this item.

This is a great scale! With the 2 handles it is much easier to lift a heavy suitcase. The weight reading lights up with a blue light and a voice tells you the weight of the bag. The scale folds up small so it doesnt take up much room in a suitcase. I bought this after I had to pay an extra $50 for my luggage exceeding the airlines weight limit! If you travel a lot this is a must to take with on your vacations.

I bought this as a present for myself. After having a few overweight bags, I got tired of doing the check in shuffle. This luggage scale allows me to pack all that I can in my check-in luggage. I have already used it three times and it was within 1 oz of the airline scale. I don't travel without it ! Kudos to Taylor for using Carson Kressley as the voice on the unit ! Best design for measuring luggage weight. Most products out there require one hand operation which is impractical because I have difficulty lifting something 50 pounds or more with one hand. This product solves that problem by providing a long handle bar that both hands can be used. You can fold the handles down when not in use and the size is perfect for traveling. The handles although made in plastic, the feel is very solid. No more asking the hotel bell boy to weight my luggages and move contents between them to stay within the weight limit in the public before flight. It registers the weight quickly that minimizes the lifting time. The fact that it announces the reading makes it a perfect product for me, I don't need to remove my glasses to do the reading. Repeatability is +/0.5 pound which is not bad for electronic scale, my bath scale is +/1 pound.

This is a great product except for one thing. The instructions tell you to open the battery case to remove the battery protection tag. However, the battery case IS VERY difficult to open...I tried several screw drivers including the one for my sewing machine. I had my dad try and he could not open either. Now I have several scrape marks on the outside case...and I not sure what I will do when the battery needs to be changed. (I eventually pulled the tag thinking I have nothing to lose...and it is working perfectly.)
