We mounted it next to the sink at a level he could reach the towel but where the towel wasn't dragging on the counter, because our only towel racks were over the toilet (really?) and in the shower (again, really?). The rubber ring means he can't easily pull the towel out, but the retractable feature means he can pull the towel down to use it, and it snaps back in place on its own.
Also great for husbands who can't be bothered to put a hand towel back neatly (or at all) in consideration of their loving wife's OCD. :-)I got this because I was tired of picking up the hand towel in out bathroom or searching for it when kids would walk off with it. THIS does the trick! The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is that the rubbery ring part is a little small and it is a chore lacing a good hand-towel through it. It would probably work better in the kitchen or with thinner hand-towels.
It installed easily and is very well-made.

This works perfect for our extra bathroom. It fits in a small space and keeps the towel from being left on the counter. It works really well for kids! I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 only because the rubber ring the towel fits into is kind of small for thick towels. Other than that, what a great idea!Read Best Reviews of Moen RTR2000 Retractable Towel Ring, Here
1. The rubber ring that holds the towel came off the line the first time I used it, their knot at the end of the line came apart, so then the line spun up inside the housing, cheap design, a mess.2. The rubber ring for the towel is too small and should be made of metal in my opinion.
3. The line is too short to be actually useful, only about 9 inches, needs to be about 24" to make it worthwhile.this easy to install, looks great, and provides somewhat of a conversation piece. works great and is a unique addition.
