Moen T2442CP Monticello Posi-Temp Trim Kit without Valve, Chrome and Polished Brass

I bought this trim kit and used it to swap out my existing Moen Monticello "Platinum" (brushed chrome) trim kit. All you need for tools are the included allen wrench and a philips head screw driver, and you can swap it out in about 10 minutes. Just carefully remove the old trim kit and place the parts in order on the ground, and then put the new kit in the same way. You do not need plumbers putty, caulk, or any kind of sealant. There is a gasket under the face plate that keeps water out.

I docked this review 1 star for price. This kit should be more like $75, not $100. Note, even if you currently have Moen Monticello, you don't have to use Monticello going forward. There are other cheaper kits from Moen that will work with your valve. I just chose Monticello again because I have matching towel bars, etc.

Note: This trim kit does NOT have the red and blue " Hot/Cold" decal on it as pictured. It is just plain brushed nickel with an etched snow flake for cold, and a sun for hot. Personally I think that makes this kit look higher end.

PS. I went to the home improvment store with the orange aprons and bought a matching 6" generic brushed nickel arm ($10), and a sweet Delta brushed nickel rain can shower head to make the refurb complete.

Our old unit rusted in place, and had to be drilled off, so we got a replacement for the cosmetic damage. This newer unit has a better mount, which prevents the handle from wiggling. Exactly as described, excellent quality.

Looks as pictured except it doesn't have the blue and red lines, which actually looks better. Cant go wrong with moen.

The trim kit that you receive is not as pictured. There is a blue/red gauge on the trim in the photo but not on the trim when received. I did exchange it but received the same item again. Be aware.
