Moen P1786 Stainless Steel Stainless Towel Ring

The item was shipped and received promptly, but before I even took it out of the outer box I was wary the product box had a rip in it, and wasn't fully folded shut. When I unwrapped it, I saw that it was a SHINY CHROME finish, not the warm brushed stainless as stated in the description. I have a Moen faucet to compare it to and of course there's no comparison. As to the item itself the under-$10 price seems about right for the quality of the item. There are tiny scratches here and there on it (once again, screamingly obvious on shiny chrome), but they possibly could be buffed, or might not even be noticed once the ring is mounted and in use. The one that I received had no mounting instructions, so the installer should know about either using the enclosed screws to go into a stud, or replacing them with an anchor of some sort.

Amazon is sending me out a replacement; I'll either update this review or post a different one (I don't know what their rules are for replacement items). Their automated customer service on this is very easy to deal with.

The back piece(s) that hide the mounting hardware are made from the thinnest steel (which will hopefully, over timel, prove to in fact be stainless) and the press marks are pretty obvious around the edges. All in all they look ok, though if I wasn't on such a tight budget, I would have paid more for something more substantial.
