Command Soap Dish with Water-Resistant Strip, 1-Dish, 1-Strip

Command Soap Dish with Water-Resistant Strip, 1-Dish, 1-StripI can't see many people getting excited over a soap dish, but I have always been impressed with any of the 3M command products. The soap dish is the best one I have tried yet. It is easy to clean when it gets all gummed up with soap and can be detached from the wall of your shower to clean around the plate.

The only warning I have is that when removing the dish for cleaning, be gentle. While the plate will not come off the wall if you're using a crowbar, the plastic tabs on the plate that support the soap dish can break. If you break one, you can still use the dish...you break both...you've got to buy another ;)

When I went to take my first shower in my new home, I was dismayed that the shower didn't have a spot to put the soap. Well technically it did, but it's like a few inches from the bottom of the tub. Convenient when you're bathing, but not exactly convenient when you're showering, unless of course you are Inspector Gadget **go-go-gadget arms*

So off I went in pursuit of a soap dish. I tried a few different styles and makes, none of which worked. They all fell off right away, some fell off even before I put the soap on them. They must have been tested really well ~sheesh.

Finally I came across the 3M Command soap dish, and I thought I would give it a try. I held my breath when I put it on, waiting for it to fall off right away, but it stayed put. I then loaded it with soap, and still it stayed put. I had a few showers, and I was in awe that it stayed put even when wet. I think it has been a few years since I installed it, and it is still firmly in place. It's magnificent! I love that it has slots in the bottom for the water to drain so your soap doesn't get yucky. Also, it is very easy to remove. You don't have to ruin your shower wall or the soap dish. How do I know that it's easy to remove? Well, I didn't like where I put it in the beginning and decided to move it piece of cake!

I love all 3M Command products that I've used. They really know their stuff!

This is perfect to put out of reach of the water, thus washing away the soap. I have it on a slightly textured surface and so far it has stayed there.

Disclaimer: I work for 3M and I love my job, but I paid full price for this product on Amazon.com because I needed a new soap dish and wanted to enhance company profits. My review is genuine, and I was not paid any extra bonus or given a free vacation day for writing this stellar review.

For years, my wife and I had a suction cup soap dish in our shower. About once every 3 months, it would bite the dust and come crashing down to the floor of the shower. Aside from the risk that these events might lead to shower surface damage or bodily injury, the sound of this happening was somewhat like a wrecking ball crashing through the family room, especially for the person in the room below the shower. Finally, I stumbled upon the idea that I should consider holding the soap dish to the shower wall with a Command Strip. Command Strips are the 3M equivalent of duct tape, though 3M makes the best duct tape known to man, as well. Cripes. Now I am sounding like a spokesperson. Sorry. My point is that Command Strips can be used for all kinds of cool things. Then, it occurred to me that maybe 3M had already thought of a soap dish suspended with Command Strips. INDEED, I discovered, they had. I snapped one up on Amazon, and our shower no longer houses falling soap dishes.

There are many things I love about my new 3M Command soap dish:

+ Simple to Install: It doesn't take a rocket scientist. If you cannot install it in 3 minutes or less, you shouldn't be allowed to vote.

+ Attractive: Yes, I am a man, but I know a nice looking soap dish when I see one. This does not look like a cheesy soap dish from a dollar store. It is nice.

+ Finely Engineered: 3M is a mecca for engineers. There will be no product launched until engineers have had their say. This dish is built to support even the largest bar of soap, and it is nicely designed to drain off excess water and soap, unlike the junky suction cup dish I replaced.

+ Removable/Replaceable: The hanger for this dish attaches separately from the dish, making it easy to remove the dish for cleaning without having to remove the Command Strip. Very smart.

+ Excellent Value: Compared to alternatives, this soap dish is TOO INEXPENSIVE! 3M should be selling it for more money. How about "Preferred 100:1 Over Other Soap Dishes"? OK, that is not an actual claim, but I'll bet it's true.

Did you ever think you would read a review this lengthy about a soap dish?

Buy it. You'll love it.

This is a great soap dish. Inexpensive, holds on to the wall, the soap stays in the dish, not bad to look at, and best of all I can take it off the wall and throw it in the dishwasher when it gets grimy. A+ product

UPDATE: We have 2 of these and they have never once fallen off the shower walls in 3 years. After a run through the dishwasher every month or so they look like new.
