I really like the look and color of this item, but it's not very usable, since it retains lots of water and it doesn't let it water drain away, completely dissolving the soap bar.. becomes messy right away

Color is same as in photo. Not one single 'flaw' in the dish. No chips,nicks, streaks, dents or anything. When they poured the mold, it came out perfectly. This was an "add on", but I'm glad I got it. Many uses other than a soap dish. As an actual soap dish, I agree with the other reviewer, there's no "holes" to drain the soapy water out of it. And while a soap "ball' would look cool in this, it would sit in the water that dripped off the soap. So you really need to use a large bar of soap so that the sides of the dish keep the soap elevated out of any water. Of course, sticky mess will still happen with the bar get's down to a smaller size and plops into the water.

Still...love the look.
