Moen RR5520SS CSI Commercial Stainless Tissue Box

We live in a small space, and countertop space in our bathroom is at a premium. We ordered this intending to install it in the wall, as hotels have them. But when we received it, we realized that it's depth the part that gets recessed into the wall was too deep for our condo walls. Our walls are concrete, not wood framing, and thus are thinner than if they'd been built with wood studs.

The quality of this item was good, it was well packed, and I'm sure it would have done it's job without a hitch. Sadly, though, it's really only for homes where the walls are made of wood studs that are sufficiently deep to enable this to be recessed. If the wall that you want to install this in is only 1.5" to 2" deep, however, it's not going to fit.

I wish the measurements listed had been a bit more clear as to actual dimensions; we'd have known upfront that this would be too deep for our walls. One star off only because the measurements could/should be a bit more clear as to how much of this box actually needs to be recessed into the wall.

OTOH, CSN Stores was GREAT about the return. Prompt on everything: replying to my email that we needed to return, sending us the return shipping label, and crediting us back the refund. One of the BEST merchants I've dealt with yet in terms of customer service.

I agree with cat lover. A product like this, that will be installed in a specific location, needs to have specific measurements listed. I appreciated the info from cat lover as I too am very tight on available space.

The Moen RR5520SS CSI Commercial Stainless Tissue Box is a nice addition to my newly renovated bathroom. It was easy to install, but like the other reviewers noted, be careful on where you plan to install it and the thickness of your walls. Of course there was a stud directly in the middle of where the tissue box was going to be installed. After some discussion my wife and I decided to install it vertically rather than cut out the stud, which is not a good idea on an outside wall and would have taken more work than I wanted to take on.

After I cut the hole I cut two 2x4's and slid them into the hole to act as "nailers" (I used screws to secure the inner box to the new "studs" and small head square head screws to secure the studs to the drywall, using the small head screws I didn't have to make any wall repairs or paint anything at all). All in all it took less than 20 minutes to install the tissue box and it looks really nice. 4-Stars is for the finger prints that show on the chrome, outside of that, it's a nice addition to the bathroom.
