This is a review of the product described on Amazon as "Adhesive Bath Mat." The actual product I received was described on the package as "Home Care by Moen Bath and Shower Safety Mat" with a model number of DN7050 and a UPC barcode number of 0-34584-17971-5. The dimensions of the mat are 16 inches by 34 inches.
The product is just a sheet of vinyl with a pebbly top. As you might expect, this does not offer much traction in a wet, soapy tub. It does adhere well, and I doubt it will peel off anytime soon. But it is just too thin to be very effective. Think about it: if you slip in your tub now, how much help can you expect if you replace the present surface of your tub bottom with a piece of vinyl? Of course, I should have considered that before purchasing. And once you have installed it, you can't send it back for a refund.
EDIT: I finally found a product that would provide a genuine nonslip surface in my bathtub. It is called the "Gator Grip" traction mat. You can buy this in various dimensions for various purposes. The bathtub mat measures 16 inches by 42 inches, and can be cut to fit. It seals to the bottom of the tub with a firm adhesive. I highly recommend it instead of the product reviewed above. Like another reviewer, I first saw something like this at a hotel. I fell in love with it then, but it wasn't until now that I found them, and found them at a good price. So good, I bought two!
I have older enamel over steel tubs and, as you can imagine, they get slick. These mats are the same material those goofy stick-on treads are made from, but in a full adhesive sheet. Even with a scattering of flowers, butterflies, or racing stripes, when we had those appliques growing up, you could still hit bare tub and fall on your behind... or worse. I was afraid to have overnight guests worrying about liability if they should slip and fall. No worries now.
Before I applied them, I rolled them out and set some things on the ends to help them flatten out. I think this makes a big difference. To apply, since I really wanted mine to stick, I went over the whole bottom of the tub with windex and a scrubby sponge. I dried it with paper towels, dried again with frsh paper towels, and then let it air dry for a few minutes. You only get one shot, so I laid the first one in the tub, made sure it was aligned exactly where I wanted it, and then stood on it before peeling and sticking down the first end so that it wouldn't move.
Following the instructions, stick down the first few inches, smooth it out, peel then smooth, peel then smooth, from the center to the edges pressing with a small towel. (I started with my hands, but it gets rough pretty quick.) And then you're done! You can use it right away.
Nothing beats common sense and bathtub safety, but every extra measure of protection is a good thing. My mats came from seller Dynamic Living. I noticed this changes so I don't know if the product changes. FYI.

Thank goodness for this product. I got this because the previous owners of our house had managed to scrape the porcelian tub up really badly to the point it was actually rusting in spots. I bought an appliance paint to cover it but that left it slick and then my inlaws put a suction cup mat on it and pulled up alot of the paint, leaving it really looking worse than before. I put this down, and it adheered really well and solved the aesthetic problem it had before. Now it is non-slip and looks so much better. We have had no problems with it coming up.

This was just what we were looking for. We have a fiberglass tub and the traditional suction cup mats wouldn't stay put. This mat is firmly in place and has made bathing so much safer for our toddler.

I ordered this product because I had bought a special needs bathtub for my grandson who has Cerebral Palsy. The bad thing about his tub is that because it is plastic he tends to slide down the seat even with straps. I saw this product and ordered it, my daughter was able to cut it to fit the tub and it works great! My grandson is now enjoying his bath time again....definately recommend it.

Very nice looking bathroom accessory set. Came on time and packaged nicely. The pump works fine, no problems at all with it. I actually use it for liquid soap not lotion. I don't use the soap dish, only becuase i don't like bars of soap, but it is very textured so the soap shouldn't slip off at all. The toothbrush holder is sturdy doesn't knock off the counter easily when placing the tooth brush back. All-in-all, very happy with the set and would reccommend it
